Flintbeck Farm

Flintbeck is a family run fully operational cattle and game farm. The Schotfeldt family have been farming here since 1952, nestled in the valley of the ancient Magaliesberg mountain you will find rolling hills, open grass fields and an abundance of natural beauty covered in acacia and wild olive trees.

Flintbeck farm is proud to form part of the world renowned Magaliesberg Biosphere and newly established Olienhout conservancy. In conjunction with our community we are constantly striving to find sustainable ways of conserving this very unique landscape.

The Schotfeldt family has a proud German heritage and still speak German on the farm. The main lodge is the original structure that was on the farm when Friedel Schotfeldt bought the farm in 1952. Built from natural materials such clay bricks and thatch roofs this building was refurbished in 2014 to accommodate guests.

Flintbeck farm is anideal getaway for friends and family that enjoy the open tranquility of farm life.

    Aspect Rating Notes
Accommodation circle1 The original farm dwellings were renovated and converted into exquisite rondavel type accommodation. The main lodge offers 3 ensuite rooms for 6 people with a large, well equipped and functioning kitchen and sitting/dining room. Two separate rondavels offer a further 3 beds each with own kitchen and bathroom. A large outside lapa with an under-roof bar creates a good entertaining area.
Safety circle1 One secure electric gate allows access to the fenced game farm. The owners, family and staff members all stay on the farm not far from the main lodge. The accommodation buildings are all equipped with burglar bars, security steel doors, Robo guards, fire extinguishers, external spotlights, and lockable safes for personal belongings.
Leisure activities circle1 Many possibilities here. Well marked hiking trails, mountain biking, game viewing, birding. Visitors will probably spend most of their time at the large entertainment area with braai lapa, under-roof bar, and even a Jacuzzi.
Farm activities circle1 Flintbeck is a working, extensive cattle (Bonsmaras) and game breeding farm. Close to the main lodge are several farm and domestic animals such as chickens and geese. Guests are welcome to join, observe, and participate in any of the farm activities where possible.
Value for money circle1 Very nice accommodation on a game farm in a beautiful area, at very reasonable rates with extremely friendly hosts and dedicated staff.
