Elandsberg Eco Tourism

Elandsberg Eco Tourism is located on the Groenkol Rooibos Tea Estate about 25km from Clainwilliam in the Olifants River mountain. Although it is situated and operated on the farm, Elandsberg Eco Tourism is independent from the farm operations.

HERE VISITORS CAN SAVOUR ALL THE SERENITY AND BEAUTY NATURE WILL BESTO ON THEM.

Our guests can enjoy relaxing safari's. The safari tours we offer on the estate take place in our safari vehicles (maximum 10 guests) and consist of two parts which are often combined.

On the first tour we take our guests to one of the Rooibox plantations where we explain just about everything about the plant, its peculiarities and its cultivation. Then we drive to the processing plant (factory) where guests can experience all the processes the tea goes through from the raw material to the final packaged product.

The second part of the tour focuses in an informal way on fynbox i.e. - how plants cope with the very hot, dry summer conditions, what they do to attract pollinators, how they protect themselves against insect pests, etc (we refer to all this as the secret live of plants). The Cape floristic kingdom (of fynbos biome) is one of the richest plant biomes in the world. Each of the tours lasts a little more than one hour. The combined tour lasts about 2 1/2 hours.

Prior booking is essential!

Groenkol Rooibos Tea Estate is one of the oldest Rooibos tea farms, and is operated like a wine estate where everything is done on the farm from growing their own seedings to final packaging and marketing. The farming is also known for its stud Merinos and stud Simbra cattle.

Our apartments are tucked in a quiet and safe valley on a Rooibos tea estate in the midst of the wealth of the Cederberg plant life and renowned wild flower displays from late winter to early summer. It is the ideal setting to simply relax and enjoy. However, for the slightly more energetic, free range hiking on the estate is absolutely safe and will present ever changing vistas of mountains and rolling hills. The birdlife is quite prolific – from the Black eagle with its wing span in excess of two metres to the Cape canary. The natural Fynbos is only broken by fascinating rock formations.

Each of the two apartments consists of a fairly spacious, air-conditioned, lounge and dining room with a kitchenette; a bedroom and a bathroom. Both can sleep four people if they are comfortable sharing a bathroom. They are truly accessible for physically handicapped people.
Each apartment has a veranda with a deck as well as a braai area which is also accessible for people in wheelchairs as are all other amenities (except the pool) as well as the garden which was specially adapted to for the benefit of handicapped persons. The apartments are air-conditioned, and wi-fi is available.
Safe, covered parking is also provided.
